After a relatively tame night (relative to the night before of course) at a few bohemian and alternative bars, we decided to take the next day easy with some late brunch, internet and moving to our new hostel. The new hostel was just on the western outskirts of Melbourne and was like a 5 star hotel in comparison to anything we had stayed at before. After gushing about our new digs for awhile, we met up with Luke, Danny and Alice again. We ate at one of the dozens of alleyway bars/restaurants. It was really charming actually. If you made your way past a few dumpsters (nothing too dingy) there was a whole world of cute and independently owned bars and cafes. Afterwards we all went for a very romantic walk along the Yarra river where we ended a low key night with some icecream and a train ride home...Jordan waited for a manual train door to open automatically so we missed our stop...but we gave the Aussies a good laugh so it was all worth it.
That was the first night we actually saw a decent bit of the downtown of Melbourne. It was pretty, but we're still Sydney diehards. Don't tell anyone from Melbourne though...huge insult apparently. Okay we'll try and get another one in soon so we catch up here. We're in Byron right now so there's a couple holes to fill in.
